Tabitha Brown brings her vibrant joy to Target’s new collection made ‘for everyone’

You may know Tabitha Brown as “America’s Mom,” who rose to fame on TikTok during the COVID-19 pandemic by sharing vegan recipes and words of wisdom in her signature soothing voice.

Brown is now entering a new space and partnering with Target to fulfill her longtime dream of creating her own clothing line. Before becoming an actor, Brown went to fashion design school.

“I told my dad when I left school, you know one day when I’m famous I’m going to have a fashion line. I didn’t know it would turn out like this, but it’s It’s always been something I’ve wanted to do,” Brown told AOL at her collection’s launch event.

For Brown, the designs were all about “joy and bringing a bit of me and sunshine into people’s lives.”

“It was really so that people were encouraged to feel good about the way they dressed, to feel free and to look good at the same time,” she said.

The partnership, which launched just a week before Juneteenth, is part of Target’s efforts to support black-owned businesses and partner with black creators and designers, according to a company press release.

Brown “is known for being a beacon of positivity, which makes her the perfect partner to help Target continue to provide inspiring, inclusive and affordable style for everyone,” said Jill Sando, executive vice president and chief merchandising officer at Target in the press release.

Its debut design includes over 75 items of apparel, swimwear and accessories in women’s sizes XXS to 4X, with most items priced under $30. The affordability and inclusiveness of the size was particularly important to Brown when creating the line, as she wanted to create designs “for everyone”.

“All the women in my family are plus size women. I saw the struggles they went through growing up with clothes that weren’t what they wanted or had no options” “, she told AOL. “Or also being overrated,” she said. “It doesn’t matter how small or how big we are or what we look like, we are perfect. So I wanted our look to be perfect too, so it had to include everyone.
