Naomi Watts Appears in Flat Sandals at Thirteen Moon Luncheon – Footwear News
Naomi Watts brought a vibrant take on summer style to the Hamptons this week, while co-hosting Thirteen Moon’s ‘Beauty of Inclusion’ luncheon in the Hamptons. Held at the Topping Rose Hotel, the event celebrated the beauty platform’s various brands – 90% of which are founded by BIPOC and 10% are allied brands – and inclusive beauty for all.
On Monday, Watts arrived at the event in a bright yellow midi dress. The ‘Infinite Storm’ star’s cheery number featured a sleeveless silhouette with pockets, as well as brown buttons that ran down the front. Watts’ accessory set included several gold bracelets, rings and earrings, as well as a layered pendant necklace and white-framed round sunglasses. She also took the time to pose for photos with many of the attendees, including Thirteen Moon co-founders Nyakio Grieco and Patrick Herning.
As for footwear, Watts continued her summer streak with a pair of “flat” sandals. Its flat-soled style featured white and black rubber soles, complemented by thick raised platforms covered in espadrille-style woven raffia. The ensemble was completed with wide black leather toe and ankle straps, adding security to the casual pair – and framing Watts’ upbeat yellow pedicure, which matched her dress perfectly, in the process.
“Platform” sandals like Watts’ are one of the main footwear trends of the summer this year, combining elements of wedge and platform sandals without an angled sole. The style often features raised soles and footbeds, and has gained popularity for its easy wear and instant height increase. Rag & Co.’s summer collection puts the focus on trend with versatile gladiator sandals and flip-flops, featuring tonal leathers and comfortable rubber soles. Likewise, André Assous’ new line features a range of woven espadrille styles with chunky upper straps, which include bohemian summer details like oversized buckles and braiding.
Thirteen Lune’s “Beauty of Inclusion” luncheon celebrated the beauty retailer’s dedication to the diversity of its brands, as well as the value that BIPOC beauty brands represent for all. Co-hosted by Naomi Watts and Wall Group manager Kate Stirling, the event took place at the Topping Rose Hotel in Bridgehampton, with a guest list including Rachel Zoe, Molly Sims, Tinx and Thirteen’s own co-founders Moon, Nyakio Grieco and Patrick Herning. The occasion also toasted some of the biggest brands on the platform, including Holifrog, Ami Cole, Buttah, Soleil Toujours, Relevant: Your Skin Seen and Katini Skin.
