Gianvito Rossi Shoe Spring ’23 Shoe Collection at Milan Fashion Week – Footwear News

Gianvito Rossi wants festival shoes to get a bit more glamorous.

In one of the luxury designer’s key stories for Spring 23, Rossi offers his distinct take on summer festival footwear, centered around natural stone embellishments.

Jades, opals, turquoises, amethysts and tiger adorn high Spartans with pointed stiletto heels. For those who want to stay a little closer to the ground, the stones are also highlighted on the block heels of Rossi’s metallic leather mules.

Natural stones were the focus of the festival-inspired portion of the collection.

While Rossi sees stones as a casual alternative to crystals, there is still a plethora of crystals throughout the rest of the collection.

Case in point: Alluring crystal chains serve as a sort of strap for the pointy-toe boots and booties in the part of the collection the designer calls his “punkish” world.

And crystals also feature prominently in the “Party” part of the offering, with red, yellow, pink and green sparkles adorning the plexi upper of a metallic leather pointed toe sandal. Iridescent leather bands in all the colors of rainbow gladiators.

“Our new proportions make the shoe elegant, but also easy to wear,” Rossi told FN. “I believe women today are always looking for shoes that flatter their figure, enhance them and make them feel beautiful. It goes beyond trends.

As the designer launched his new collection, he said he worked on rolling out several store openings in the Middle East and China, two important markets for the brand. Recently, Rossi moved to Dubai Mall and Doha Vendome, and Saudi Arabia and Turkey are next on the list.

In China, sites in Beijing and Chongqing have recently opened their doors and two stores in Chengdu are in the pipeline. Additionally, the brand will launch a digital store on Tmall in early 2023.

The focus on direct business is paying off: DTC sales (in-store and online) are up 50% year-to-date compared to the same period in 2021. The brand expects this that total 2022 sales are above 2019 levels.

The brand has worked on the renovation of key doors in Milan, Paris and London. He has a new shop-in-shop at Harrods.
